With the Election Commission (EC) of India shortly expected to announce dates for the upcoming general elections 2019, the residents of high-rises in Greater Noida West have started making all the efforts to ensure that their details are correctly updated in the voters’ list.

On Saturday, Gaur City, along with a non-government organization, started a two-days voters’ list verification camp in the society so that the residents can report any discrepancy in their details in the list.

The drive aims to help the residents avoid any last-minute hassle on the voting day.

The camp started at Galaxy North Avenue, Gate 2, near Gaur City. The residents who need to make any changes in their voting details can contact the organisers at the camp along with the relevant documents for verification. Those who need update their name, address or photograph can do so by submitting relevant documents.

The verification camp also aims to ensure that voters’ slips reach out to the residents at correct addresses. Once the residents submit their details, the organising team will submit the list to a government-appointed Booth Level Officer (BLO) for further correction.

Vivek Kumar, one of the organisers and a resident of Gaur City, told City Spidey that the camp is not just for the residents of the society but even people from outside can contact them. “Voters’ list verification camp will end on Sunday (March 10) by 4 pm. Many residents who have recently shifted their houses need to update their new address. Hopefully, the camp will help all our residents cast their vote,” Kumar added.
