'We got go-ahead from Auhority to increase Floor Area Ratio'

Supertech MD says they had applied for additional FAR but Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority didn’t respond or reject their application within 60 days, and according to regulations, this means affirmation.

The war of words between Supertech group and Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority doesn’t seem to be abating. The Authority had sent a notice to the builder for increasing the Floor Area Ratio (FAR) without permission and building an additional 1,134 flats in Supertech Czar, Omicron Sector; and sought a reply on the issue.

RK Arora, managing director of Supertech, told City Spidey, “Our firm had applied for extra FAR for Supertech Czar project. As per the regulations laid down by the Authority itself, if the Authority does not respond to the application or does not reject it in writing within 60 days, it is assumed that the builder has got a go-ahead from the Authority.” Arora added that in their case, when they did not receive any response after 60 days, they went ahead and increased the FAR.

When we contacted PC Gupta, ACEO of Greater Noida Authority, he said, “We have heard their (Supertech group's) version. But we will wait for the response by the buyers in the project, who have been given a month’s time to file their response on the issue.” The buyers had opposed the construction of flats other than that mentioned in the original plan submitted by the builder.
