Noida Authority has started resurfacing of one kilometre stretch of road in sectors 50 and 51. This work was highly awaited by the residents in the area as it was pending for the last two years.
According to the RWA officials of nearby societies, they had written several letters to the Authority requesting them to do resurfacing the road. Finally, they are going to get good road to commute in the area.
“The stretch was totally damaged and vehicles used to struggle on it. The chances of accidents on this road was very high. Last week, a Wagon-R car slipped on the stretch and hit a tree adjacent to the road. The driver was fortunate to escape the damages. He suffered only few injuries on his leg,” Rajkumar Sharma, a resident of sector 50 said.
The Authority is also resurfacing the road from sector 50 metro station to sector 76 junction. This road was full of potholes which caused many damages to the cars and bikes. The road is now free of potholes.
SC Gupta, Project Engineer of Noida Authority said that the stretch got damaged during the construction of metro corridor. He confirmed that they are resurfacing all the roads which got damaged during construction of metro corridor.
“The bitumen laying needed a certain temperature which cannot be done in extreme cold conditions. So, the work was stopped during winter. We have resumed the work as temperatures have risen in March,” he added.
