On Saturday, a 30-year-old lady doctor was gagged and robbed in a moving auto at a gunpoint in Ghaziabad.

Days after a woman was gagged and robbed in a running auto rickshaw in Ghaziabad, office bearers of few Residents Welfare Associations (RWAs) and president of Federation of Apartment Owners Association based in in Indirapuram met with police administration and expressed their concerned for the safety of the residents.

On Saturday, a 30-year-old lady doctor was gagged and robbed in a moving auto at a gunpoint in Ghaziabad.

The incident has caused panic among people, especially, those who live in Indirapuram. Be it man or woman, the incident has left them concerned about their safety.

Sanjay Jain, president of Apartments Owners Association (AOA) in ATS Advantage, a residential condominium in Indirapuram, said that after reading about the incident, he has started feeling unsafe.

“Last night, I was coming from New Delhi station at 12 am in the night on a three-wheeler. I realised one can land into troubles,” Jain said.

The RWAs representatives met with Circle Officer Indirapuram and requested her to tight noose around such criminal activities.

Amita Mahapatra, president of Shipra Krishna Vista, said that police administration has to be more vigilant, as the opening of metro station at Noida Sector 62, would provide bait to criminals. “The area is surrounded by educational institutes and corporates. A lot of traffic, comprising of students and office goers, would move from this area to NH 24 and Indirapuram,” said Mahapatra.

Meanwhile, many also asked about scrutinising of shared autos.

“A proper record of their registration, owner and driver details should be maintained by police so that in case of any untoward incidents, culprits could be caught without much delay,” said a resident.

Meanwhile, police said that a specific gang has caused the incident and police is trying to catch hold of them soon.
