Noida: RWA demands frequent patrolling after repeated burglary attempts

After the burglary attempt at the DMRC godown through children park area last night, the Residents Welfare Association (RWA) has requested the police to increase the patrolling in the Sector 51 area of Noida.

“On March 25, I received a call from security guard of the children’s park at 9 pm. He informed me that a gang of thieves are stealing iron plates and iron materials from DMRC godown,” said Sanjeev Kumar, RWA General Secretary of Sector 51.

“The guard also intimated that when he tried to stop them, they beat him up. Immediately, I called police for action. By the time police reached the children’s park after 40 minutes, the thieves had run away,” he added.

Kumar said that he was again informed at 10.20 pm that the thieves came back and they were approaching towards metro godown. “I again called the police. They came within 10 minutes but again the thieves were successful in fleeing away,” he said.

The RWA General Secretary informed that there was no electricity supply to the children’s park for last two months as it was discontinued by the UPPCL due to non-payment of electricity bills. He said that the area is vulnerable due to lack of proper lighting.

Ajay Aggarwal, SHO of Sector 49 police station said that more police patrolling will be done in the area and a police team is also in action to catch the culprit.
