The Noida Authority has decided to set up compact garbage stations at 40 different spots in various sectors across the city soon following its performance in the recent Swachh rankings, securing 150th place. Interestingly, the officials of the authority concerned were thinking of getting an 'ideal' rank below 30!

Talking to City Spidey on this move, one of the officials of the authority said, ”There are 263 garbage houses at present in the city for various residential and industrial sectors. Each of these stations will have a large compactor. It will transport the garbage directly to the dumping ground with the help of big garbage vehicles."

On asking who will monitor the work at these work stations, SC Gupta, DGM of the health department, Noida Authority replied, “We will install four to five CCTV cameras at every compact station. Besides, a control room will be there to monitor work and overall movement.”

Work related to building compact stations has already started at some spots. Similarly, work near Sector 26, Sector 35, service road in Sector 36, entry gate of Sector 54, near Park View Hotel in Sector 55, near Reliance petrol pump in Sector 63, near Sector-65 parking plot, pushta road in Sector 69 will commence in a few days.

Officials of the Noida Authority said they expect the work to get completed at all 40 spots by April 15.
