Dwarka: Jain couple sensitises kids about environment

To inculcate the habit of working for the environment, Teena Jain and her husband  Padam Jain of Dwarka's Classic Apartments Sector 22 has started a new initiative of protecting our mother nature with a group of kids from the nearby societies.

Under the initiative, they carried a drive to paint 15 trees on the roadside to protect them from termite and other parasites. It also enhanced the look of the area. Besides the kids, the DDA horticulture officials also took part in the noble cause.

“This is the initiative to love and protect the environment. Today, we  dedicate an hour for the trees. Kids picked up their paint brushes to help workers of DDA who were doing beautification of tree-line around Sector-22 Dwarka. We requested the DDA workers to join them and they agreed. This was a wonderful experience of spreading awareness about protection of the environment and developing core values of teamwork,"Teena told City Spidey.

The Jain couple said that they had carried a plantation drive earlier in the area and this time they wanted to do something different so they chose to paint the tree's trunks.

"Once when we witnessed that there were termites in the trees, we thought to do something. We got to know that the DDA workers were carrying the painting on trees on the roadside in Sector 22. We decided to work with them. Children were also very interested in doing a different activity. They were so happy about painting the trees. Now they expressed more such activities and we decided to do it once in a month,"Padam said.

Children from different apartments like Udyog Vihar Apartments Sector 22, Classic Apartments Sector 22, DDA SFS flats in Sector 22 among others participated in the activity
