The power distribution companies are acting on the directions of the Chief Election Commission (EC) of India.
In the wake of upcoming elections, the power distribution companies will be supplying uninterrupted power to the residents of Noida and Greater Noida till the time polling gets complete on April 11.
The power distribution companies are acting on the directions of the Chief Election Commission (EC) of India.
For the smooth conduct of elections, the EC had asked power distribution companies in Gautam Budh Nagar to ensure continuous supply power to all sectors. This was directed to facilitate all the works that are required at the polling booths ahead of the elections.
Following EC's direction, Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (PVVNL) and Noida Power Distribution Company, which are supplying power to Noida and Greater Noida respectively, are complying with the directions from Monday.
An official source with PVVNL said that they are strictly following the direction. Uninterrupted power will be supplied to all residential, industrial sectors and villages till the elections.
He informed that similar steps would be taken at other poll-bound districts in the state. He said once the elections are over, uninterrupted power supply will be ensured for other districts where the elections are to be held in the second phase.
Although this has been done entirely for the purpose of the smooth conduct of elections, the residents are set to be benefitted. They would get respite from the unscheduled power cuts especially at the time when temperatures are soaring quickly.
