The Delhi Poetry Circle organised a poetry recitation programme, Kavyanjali, on Sunday evening at Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences in Dwarka’s Sector 2. The event was attended by eminent poets from Dwarka and outside also who delighted the audience with their heart-touching poems.

The participating poets included Laxmi Shankar Bajpai, Alka Sinha, PB Mishra, Kirti Kale, Masoom Ghaziabadi, Meghshyam Megh, Utkarsh Agnihotri, Manisha Shukla and Dr Arun Pandey.

Balram Pani, principal of Bhaskaracharya College, was the chief guest at the event. Kamaljeet Sehrawat, leader of the House, SDMC, and a resident of Guru Apartments in Sector 6, was present as a special guest.

PB Mishra, president of Delhi Poetry Circle and a resident of Chitrakoot Apartments in Sector 22, said, “We have been regularly organising such programmes to connect people to poetry. Such platforms give a chance to young poets to recite their own poetry and get inspired by the seasoned ones.”

The resident and poetry lovers enjoyed the event to the hilt. SK Singh, a resident of Sector 12, shared, “I love listening to Laxmi Shankar Bajpai and that’s why I had come to the event. It was a great event where the audience got a chance to listen to so many eminent poets at one place.”

Another resident of Sector 4, Sunita Das, said, “This was my first visit to a poetry event in Dwarka. I also love to write poetry and would love to join a group like this someday. Such events act as a great platform to promote literature.”
