Ghaziabad police goof up on Rahul Gandhi

A verification form bearing the photograph and details of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi has surfaced in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad on Wednesday.

The tenant verification form has domestic help/driver written in pen. It mentions him as working for three flats in HRC Professional Hub, a residential society. The form mentions his father’s name as ‘late Rajiv Gandhi’ and his occupation ‘politics’.

Verification forms are used to authenticate tenants, drivers and domestic helps. All forms are kept with a society’s AOA for record.

Arun Kumar Sharma, whose name and mobile number are mentioned in the form, is the flat owner of one of the three apartments, PA 1002.

“I came to know about the form when random people started calling me about it,” said Sharma. “It is definitely a prank by someone. Someone is trying to malign me,” he said.

City Spidey took up the matter with Gorakh Nath Yadav, SO, Indirapuram, who had come to know of the form through social media. He said there were two different types of handwriting on the form, which meant it was fabricated. "The photograph was pasted on the seal, which proves its fabricated. Even the seal is fake. It is a prank but it is also a case of forgery. It was as an attempt to defame the police and the flat owner. We are looking into the matter and will catch the person behind this," added Yadav.
