The weather in Delhi-NCR has swung from extreme heat to frequent spells of rain and thundershowers in last two days. Rains and thundershower lashed the national capital region on Wednesday evening as well bringing the temperature down to 25-degree mark.

There is also a possibility of one or two isolated spell of dust storm or thundershowers on Thursday.

People living in high rise societies complained about strong winds affecting their belongings which were kept outside their doors, in balconies and on the roof on Tuesday.

Amidst all this, there is a buzz among people in high anticipation of dust storm on Thursday. As per a forecast by the Skymetweather, the area of Delhi-NCR may receive dust storms and thundershowers on Thursday and then the weather system will come back to normal.

There are very high chances of high temperatures coming back to the national capital from tomorrow onwards.

Here is a list of dos and don’ts during dust storms and thundershowers:

  • People especially senior citizens, women and children are advisable to stay indoors.
  • People should not leave their stuffs in balconies and out of their doors.
  • While leaving the home, people should make sure that lighter stuffs like flowerpots and clothes are brought inside the apartments.
  • People are advised to keep stock of adequate food, medicines and drinking water at home.
  • People should keep their mobile phones and emergency lights charged.
  • It is advisable to avoid using personal vehicles during the dust storms and thundershowers.
  • Have advance planning for long power cuts.
  • People should not panic and stay calm.
  • Be updated about the weather alerts.
