The air quality index (AQI) on Thursday was recorded at 50, falling into the ‘Good’ category for the first time this year.

In a much-needed relief for Gurugrammers, the air quality of the Millennium City touched ‘Good’ level for the first time this year on Thursday with air quality index (AQI) recorded at 50.
On Wednesday, the AQI was recorded at 56 (Satisfactory level). This is good news for the residents as the levels of air pollution have also come down drastically.
Moreover, Gurugram recorded the cleanest air among all the cities in Delhi-NCR. In Delhi, the AQI was recorded at 114 (Moderate level) while in Faridabad, it was recorded at 244 (Poor level).
For other cities, the AQI figures were recorded as: 187 (Moderate) in Ghaziabad, 190 (Moderate) in Greater Noida, 65 (Satisfactory) in Noida and 61 (Moderate) in Manesar.
There is more good news expected over the coming days as the air quality is expected to improve further leading to cleaner days ahead, says SAFAR forecast.
The temperature also remained below average on Thursday with the maximum recorded at 31 degree Celsius and minimum at 15.2 degree Celsius. The humidity levels remained between 90 and 41 per cent.
However, according to the Met department forecast, hotter days can be expected over the next week, with the maximum temperature expected to increase to 36 degree Celsius by Sunday and it may increase to 40 degree Celsius by next week.
The Met forecast said that the temperature is expected to increase from Thursday onwards. “Clear sky is expected on Friday, with the maximum and minimum temperatures hovering between 34 and 19 degree Celsius.”
