There is no better way to beat summer’s sweltering heat than hitting the swimming pool. And when the pool is host to water sports, what more can you ask for!

With that in mind, the AOA of ATS Advantage, Indirapuram, has organised a two-day weekend water polo tournament. The AOA kicked off the society’s first such tournament on Saturday.

We bring you a few photographs from the event.

A total of eight teams, with seven members each, are participating in the event. The teams are divided in two pools. Sanjeev Nirvan, convener of the event and a member of the AOA said, “The match referees R Nath and Vivek Singh were special invitees from Ramjas Sports Complex in Delhi.” He added that the pool was 22 feet long, 12 feet wide and 5 feet deep.

Speaking to City Spidey, Lipika Bhushan, general secretary of the AOA, said, “Women of the society always manage to find ways to get together. But so many men coming together at one time, it's a first of its kind. It's also perhaps the first time water polo is being played in a society in Indirapuram. We are planning to incorporate the ladies in this event and will be holding more such events every year."
