"Helping Others" lives up to its name by doing commendable job at Indirapura

The trust was formed with a strong desire and zeal to do something for upliftment of the economic weaker section of the society.

“Helping Others” is a registered public charitable trust which took its birth around two years with the efforts of a few enthusiastic residents of Gaur Green City at Indirapuram in Ghaziabad. It was formed with a strong desire and zeal to do something for upliftment of the economic weaker section of the society.

The trust which was initially started with a very few members is now served by more than forty members.

As the first step to fulfill its responsibility towards the society, the trust had started organising weekly medical camps that offered host of medical services absolutely free of cost to the poor, underprivileged guards, maids, servants, drivers and their family and others who could not afford it on their own.

After the overwhelming response by the beneficiaries, the trust had started organising the camp on bi-weekly basis on every Wednesday and Saturday. These camps would not have been successful without the dedicated support of a team of senior doctors, volunteers who looked after other activities such as registration of patients, record keeping and distribution of medicines etc.

Other agencies have also been associated for providing medicines and laboratory services/surgeries/eye testing at very reasonable charges as per the requirement. More than 2,500 patients have been successfully treated at these medical camps till date.

When contacted by City Spidey, Manish Singh, who is one of the organisers of the medical camps and also a member of the charitable organisation said, “Our aim is to serve the underprivileged and deprived ones by providing basic health facilities, clothing, food and support for conservation of environment by including more and more volunteers. One of the other aims is to provide basic education to children of deprived ones by having evening classes and sponsoring education of deserving students in schools.”

He further added, “After recognising its responsibility to protect trees and make a clean and green environment, the trust has planted more than 500 plants of Tulsi and Neem in and around Indirapuram. The trust also endorsed the slogan ‘plastic free society,’ It has helped indistributing paper/old clothes bags made by the underprivileged in and around Indirapuram free of cost.”

One of the doctors associated with the camps, Dr AP Gupta said, “We help employees, guards, maids and their families by financing the full payment for their medical needs. We do everything which is in our capacity. We help people in getting medication.”
