After prolonged wait, first AOA elected at Panchsheel Greens

After a lot of struggle and prolonged wait, first Apartment Owners Association (AOA) was elected on Sunday at Panchsheel Greens in Greater Noida West. It was important from the view that attempts to form an AOA had failed two times in the past.

The conflict between various factions of residents and the builder made things go haywire at the society. Amidst all this, the AOA election went into backburner. The builder had earlier opposed the the election citing the UP Apartment Act guidelines where it mentions that election is not possible when the maintenance charges are due for a long time.

At that time, the maintenance charges were due for more than six months. The residents were fighting against the builder for charging steep maintenance dues and providing poor services for the past two years. With no solution in sight, a group of residents had stopped paying the maintenance charges.

Now, with election of new AOA, there is a hope that things would become normal and there would be smooth functioning of the society. In the election, the team of Vikas Kumar came out victorious as nine of their ten members were elected. A total of 380 persons participated in the election.

Kumar said, “Big responsibility comes to us after this great win. We will try our best to fulfill the expectations of the people and develop the society in best way possible. Our priority is to take handover from the builder for maintenance of the society.”

At present, there are many maintenance issues which are affecting the residents at the society. The elected team said that they will soon form different departments to take care of the different issues prevailing at the society.

Amit Yadav, a resident who actively participated in the election said, “The elected team should focus on getting handover from the builder as soon as possible. They should address all the pending issues which has been affecting the residents in big way. They should also look into finding a solution to the multipoint power connection issue which has been a burning issue.”
