I'puram: Prantic Cultural Society celebrates Tagore's birth anniversary

Prantic Cultural Society celebrated birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore and Nazrul Islam on Saturday through cultural events on Saturday at Windsor Park club in Indirapuram. The event also marked the occasion of Bengali New Year (Borsho Boron).

More than two hundred people gathered and enjoyed the dance, drama, and games. “This time, we haven’t called any external artists as our members demanded the event should have in-house performances” Debjani Samanta, coordinator of the event told.

"The entire program has been conceptualised in such a way that there is good amount of participation from all the age groups,” Samanta added.

Emphasising on the importance of both the poets, Tagore and Islam, Abhijeet Roy, president of Prantic said, “We have been celebrating Tagore and Islam's birth anniversary for 10 years now. Both of them are pride of India. They are great sons of Bengal and their poetries are a part of our day to day life.”
