A family, who is residing at RG Residency, a residential society in Sector 120, Noida, got into trouble on Tuesday night. While they were returning to their flat in the society from shopping at a local market, they got trapped in a dysfunctional passenger lift.

Residents of the society told that Vashim, his wife Shazia and son Haidar went for shopping at a local market near to the society.

Around 11 pm, they were returning to their flat at the society. They entered in the passenger lift, as they reached to the sixth floor, the lift broke down.

They quickly raised an alarm bell but it was not functional. They then tied to call someone for help by using intercom service but it was also not functional.

As the lift broke down midway to their flat in the high rise building, it caused uneasiness among them. It increased further as the intercom service of the lift was also not in order.

The family called on-duty security guards and started opening the door of the lift. They managed to open the door with the help of security guards and some residents of the society.

As he got anxious, Vashim called the police and urged for stringent action against the builder as he has not been maintaining the lift due to which it broke down. “The police came shortly but did not initiate an action against the builder,” he alleged.
