Even while the elections for apartment owners’ association (AOA) at JM Orchid, a residential society in Noida’s Sector 76, are two months away, the candidates have already started throwing muck at each other.

On Wednesday, Jitendra Pratap Singh (sitting president of AOA) went against Anurag Dhande (secretary of the same association) and lodged a complaint against him with the district administration of Noida and Greater Noida alleging that he is not clearing cheque for water bills of the society. Now, Anurag has retaliated with an alleged malicious attack on Singh.

On Thursday, Anurag posted a video clip on social media and tagged it to Twitter handles of local and state cops. In the video, alleged Anurag, a man can be seen waving a gun and firing bullets standing on the roof of a house. "This man is none other than Jitendra who has been threatening the residents of the society. The residents of the society are so scared of the president that no one wishes to go against him,” said Anurag.

The complaint was immediately taken up by the police, mentioning that Sector 49 police station in Noida has been directed to look into the matter. The members of AOA were asked to immediately contact the police station to share further details.

Speaking to City Spidey, Anurag said that since the video clip was circulating in the social media group of the society, which is something against the law, I posted it on Twitter. “Now, all the residents of the society, who have been threatened by this man in the past can share it with cops. The man seen in the video is none other than the president of the society – Jitendra,” said Anurag alleging further that the residents are so scared of him that they don't wish to complain against him.”

Meanwhile, Jitendra said that residents of the society had earlier contributed Rs 21 lakh to clear dues against water bills. “We had urged the secretary (Anurag) to sign the cheque so that the dues could be cleared. But he denied,” said Jitendra.

The two-time president of the society, Jitendra, said that the next election will be conducted in the next two months. “This is the reason that contenders from the opposition camp are trying to tarnish my images in the society,” said Jitendra adding that the video was shot in 2012 during Diwali celebration at his village. “The weapon is registered in my father’s name. All this is being done to tarnish my image in the society.”

Meanwhile, police also visited the society on Thursday to inquire about the man in video clips. Ajay Kumar Aggarwal, SHO with Sector 49 police station, confirmed that it was an old video clip taken at his native place.
