Ghaziabad police on Monday identified the missing child who was found near Raddison Hotel in Kaushambi last week. The child has been identified as Aahad who was allegedly abducted near Dayalpur police station in North East Delhi.

Police has informed his parents while the child is still receiving treatment in a hospital.

“The child is a resident of Dayalpur and was missing since May 15. We had been searching for his parents through missing children cell in surrounding police stations from where the child was found. We received a match at Dayalpur Police Station on Monday," told Sharad Kant, in-charge of Kaushambi Police Post.

“A case of abduction was reported in the police station in which age and features of victim mentioned in the report matched with Aahad. When we checked the photograph of the victim, it was clear that we had the same child in our possession,” Kant explained.

Ghaziabad police had found Aahad severely injured and in an unconscious state on Wednesday. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was admitted in critical condition.

Delhi police is suspecting role of Aahad's stepmother behind his abduction. “Dilshad, father of Aahad, was giving more time to his first wife which could have made his second wife jealous and she planned abduction of Aahad," said a police official of Dayalpur Police Station.

The child is born out of Dilshad's first marriage. Aahad has a 7-year-old sibling and lives with his mother and grandfather. Meanwhile, Dilshad, who had re-married a few years ago, lives separately with his second wife in the same locality.
