In a theft-related incident, two bike-borne miscreants snatched the mobile phone of a final-year engineering student, studying in Greater Noida's Knowledge Park. The victim, in order to nab them, chased and pulled their bike down but they somehow managed to escape from the spot.

The incident took place early Monday evening when Priyanka Garg, who hails from Orissa and pursuing B.Tech, was crossing the roundabout near Ishan institute to reach her hostel, which is opposite Jagat Farm. Realising that she was alone, the accused, who were on a bullet bike, came from behind and snatched her mobile.

Showing courage, Priyanka chased these two criminals, held the bike from behind to pull it down but these miscreants hit her on the neck to get rid of her and managed to flee. Priyanka was dragged to a distance while making this attempt.

Talking to City Spidey on the incident, victim's father BB Kiran pointed out that had the onlookers helped her after she tried to pull the bike down, these miscreants would not have escaped.

“An FIR has been registered against these two unidentified miscreants and we are now probing the matter,” Arvind Pathak, SHO (Knowledge Park police station) concluded.
