In order to stay fit and healthy this summer, people across the sub-city, including kids, have started to do yoga on a daily basis. Its sessions too have been increased keeping in view the start of summer vacation, which will prove beneficial for kids who look for different summer camps, specially organised during these holidays.

City Spidey visited various parks situated in Sector 4, 6, 10 and 12 and found that people of different age groups were doing various asanas with sheer enthusiasm and joy. Teachers from Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Satya Sai Seva Sansthan, and Bharatiya Yoga Sansthan are conducting sessions at some places whereas many people do it on their own to feel active and rejuvenated.

Yoga experts, while talking to City Spidey, shared the yoga camps and groups are increasing with each passing year. The participation is quite good during summers, with women and small kids practising different asanas.

One such camp was organised by Patanjali Yoga Peeth at Sector 4 recently, in which over 30 people participated and got benefitted by it.

Stressing on the importance of yoga in our daily lives, trainer Manmohan Gupta told City Spidey, “It has indeed gained popularity in Dwarka as people of different age groups can be seen starting their daily routine with various yoga asanas. You can see several parks across the area filled with people doing different poses in the morning time. Well, it is all about staying fit- physically and mentally, both.”

Citing various reasons for its growing popularity, trainer from Bharatiya Yoga Sansthan and a resident of Janak Residency (Sec 18B) Leela Bora said, “Earlier, yoga was considered as an activity for the aged, elderly people but with the continuous efforts made by yoga teachers, the mindset has changed as youth, women are now much more inclined towards it. Besides, people in general, are becoming health conscious so practising it daily can bring great results for one's own physical and mental well-being.”
