The residents are angered after the sudden surge in the cases of thefts and burglaries in Greater Noida West. They have raised the matter by sending tweets to the top police officials.
People alleged that almost two dozen cases of thefts and burglaries have been reported in last one month from the societies in Greater Noida West. They said that local police do not not pay heed to snatching of mobile, purse chain etc and file FIRs in such cases.
A member of Noida Extension Flat Owners Welfare Association (NEFOWA), Manish Kumar has tweeted to SSP by sharing with him the list of thefts and burglaries and requested him to check such cases.
Kumar said, “The thieves are specially targeting women in the area. The incidents of chain snatching is common in the area.”
“Most of the time, the thieves are captured on CCTV cameras. The footages have been submitted to the police. But, the thieves have not been caught,” he added.
On top of it, the cases of car thefts from outside the societies also happen almost on the daily basis. Police do file FIR in cases of car thefts. But, no real progress have been seen in such cases.
The residents requested the police to take cognizance of the matter and improve patrolling in the area. They also demanded check posts on the main roads.
As per the data, almost one and a half dozen cars have stolen from outside the societies in last 20 days. Most of the vehicles have been stolen from outside the Cherry County society.
Half a dozen cars have been stolen from Cherry County recently. Other societies which have been witness to car thefts are Galaxy Vega, Stellar Jeevan and others.
