According to the police, the victim was allegedly being molested for last one year by her father's friend who lives in the same society.
An engineer working with National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has been arrested for allegedly molesting an 11-year-old girl living in the same society in his flat in Sector 70, Noida.
According to the police, the victim, who is a student of grade six, was allegedly being molested for last one year by her father's friend. The child told her school teacher about the incident, who then immediately informed her parents about it.
The victim’s father works as a manager with a company and the family has been living in upscale society in Noida for some time. The accused, identified as Akhil Gupta (45), also lives in the same society with his wife and 12-year-old son.
According to the police complaint, the accused used to call the victim to his home in the evening to study along with his son, but both the children were made to sit in separate rooms.
The complaint said that while the victim would be sitting in a separate room and his wife would be busy in the kitchen, the accused allegedly molested her.
When she cried, he beat her up and threatened her not to share it with anyone, read the complaint. It further added that the accused had been molesting the girl for past one year.
After the victim shared about the crime with her teacher, her parents were immediately called to the school. The victim broke down in front of her mother and narrated her the ordeal. Her mother has given a written complaint with Phase-III police station.
Akhil Gupta was arrested by the police on Sunday and sent to jail.
