Community event promoting Delhi Police’s women safety Himmat app held in Dwarka

Association of Neighborhood Ladies Get-Together (ANHLGT), a voluntary organization working on women-related issues in Dwarka, organized a community event on Tuesday at the community hall of South Delhi Municipal Corporation in Sector 23.

The event, attended by women from various housing societies and police officers from Dwarka, aimed to sensitize the residents about the efforts made by the cops to ensure women’s safety.

Women residents, meanwhile, shared their several problems in the area. The police officers present at the event made the residents aware about the Himmat Plus App of Delhi Police, which focuses on women’s safety.

SS Rawat, SHO of Sector 23 Police Station, appealed to women to download the app and start using it immediately.

Indu Garg, police mitra and a resident of Sector 23, shared with the participants her experience of patrolling with police in parks at night. She also talked about how their efforts had led to 2,500 plus download of the app by women and girls in Dwarka.

President of ANHLGT, Cicily Kodiyan, said that her association was focused on improving health and security of the community and is constantly making efforts to achieve that. “We will be organising more such events promoting Himmat Plus App. We have already spread the word in around 30 societies covering more than 500 women.”
