Just after a day of its inaugural, a milk booth was demolished by Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) without giving any prior notice to RWA of Shipra Sun City Phase II in Indirapuram. It left residents fuming as they were happy to get a milk booth in vicinity.
“Surprisingly, no notice was served to the RWA. We are clueless why the milk booth was demolished,” an RWA official said.
“I don't understand the motive behind the action of GDA. If they had a concrete reason behind this action, then why didn't they communicate it to the RWA?” asked Vishal Shrivastava, a resident of the society.
RWA of the society condemned this act claiming it as a conspiracy against them. “All we know is that it's done on the complaint of a resident. The person is quite smart. He/She waited till the shop was inaugurated then complained to the authority while it was publicly announced that a milk booth will come up at that spot,” said an RWA official.
President of Federation of Apartments Owners Association (FedAoA), Alok Kumar claimed that the action by GDA is a direct violation of Uttar Pradesh Urban Development Act, 1973.
“If the shop was within society premises and violated norms, GDA must have served notice with a period of 15 days to remove it,” said Kumar.
