The Greater Noida Authority has taken strict action by imposing fines and registering FIRs against people who are illegally installing unipoles or sticking pamphlets, banner posters without taking permission.

In the last 5 months, the Authority has imposed Rs 1.5 crore of penalty on the violators. It has also warned that FIR will be lodged against repeat offenders.

“If any illegal unipole is found with advertisement then the advertiser will fined Rs 1 lakh. Rs 5,000 fine will be imposed on people who stick pamphlets and banner posters on the walls,” said Additional Chief Executive Officer, Deep Chandra.

He added, “If someone fails to submit their fine on time, the District Magistrate will issue a registration card against them which will be used for collecting fines. Apart from this, an FIR will be registered and the offender may get a jail term.”

Emphasising on the city's outlook getting tarnished due to illegal installation of unipoles and sticking of pamphlets and banner posters, Chandra said that it was turning into an eyesore and they will be very against these people in future.

The Authority aims to catch the offenders by tracing the mobile number printed on the advertisements. They will be punished in accordance with the law.
