The sudden halt in the development works of sewage lines has caused a lot of inconvenience to the residents living in sectors 21 and 25 of Noida. Debris is lying in open on the streets causing dust pollution and also affecting traffic movement.
Ranbir Soni, a resident of Sector 25, claimed that the work of laying down of sewage pipeline was put on hold from past few weeks without any prior intimation of it to them.
Soni had also enquired with fellow residents of the sector about why did the development work discontinue? But they also didn't respond as they were not aware of it.
Soni said that the development authority had promised that it would sprinkle water over dust for residents' convenience but it did not happen.
Soni added that if the work is not completed before monsoon then the problem would aggravate further. “The sewage flow is already disrupted with the digging of drain lines for repair. The drain is choked at many places. If they are not cleaned well within the time then it could cause flood-like situation during rains,” he said.
D P Goel, an Ex-Air Force officer and former chairman of Jal Vayu Vihar Cooperative Society took the issue with the officials of Noida Authority requesting them to solve the problem. He said that we had asked them to resume the work as delaying it will cause inconvenience to them.
On condition of anonymity, an officer from the authority, who is closely monitoring the development work on the site, said that digging work has been completed in the sectors. “Now only laying of pipelines is remaining. This will be completed in a week's time,” he added.
