The residents were sensitized on the precautions and cure related to the disease called ‘Glaucoma’ at Dwarka on Saturday. Dwarka Forum in association with ‘Centre for Sight Eye Institute’ organised a programme - Glaucoma - A Silent Thief of Sight.
During the programme, people had sessions with the specialist doctors and knew about the disease and its cure. Presentations and case studies were given to make people aware about the disease.
Doctors discussed symptoms, treatments and essential steps for patients etc. The residents present at the program clarified their doubts with doctors.
People also asked questions related to other eye ailments like change in night vision, frequent headache, persistent vision disruption, cataract, sensitivity to light and prevention from any problem in eyes.
President of Dwarka Forum and a resident of Netaji Subhash Apartments, Sushil Kumar said that more such programmes would be organised in coming months for the benefit of the community people.
“We will be organising events on other diseases too. For specific sessions on particular diseases and for particular age group, we are planning some health talk show. We also need suggestions and the topics on which people want to have sessions,” said Sushil.
