Residents of Gaur City, housing hub in Greater Noida West, collectively launched a plantation drive in the societies’ premises. It was third phase of initiative of plantation by a group of residents and this time around 125 different saplings were planted in Gaur City 1 and Gaur City 2.
Gautam, who goes by just one name, told City Spidey that lack of ample amount of trees was a major concern for the residents at Gaur City. Therefore, a group of residents thought of planting some saplings near to the societies.
“First of all, we constituted a team of residents from different societies and started requesting others to join. People supported well and then we arranged some fund with the help of residents and mass plantation drive was conducted three years back. Every year, we try to involve some more residents for the same and plant more saplings,” said Gautam.
Gautam, further added that the group creates awareness using various modes to have attention of the people through slogans on posters, social messages in the group etc. “Any age group people can participate. Children participation always create enthusiasm not only among them but for all age groups,” Gautam added.
