Noida: Residents celebrate Chhatrapati Shivaji's coronation anniversary

Residents from different high-rises in Sector 74 to 79 gathered along with their children to celebrate 345th anniversary of Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's coronation on Sunday. The celebration, which was held at the club house of Supertech Capetown, a residential society in sector 74, had over two hundred participants.

The organisers from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) held a competition for children, under which, children spoke on the stage about Shivaji Maharaj. They were appreciated for delivering speeches on the iconic hero. This year, the celebration was organised indoor keeping the inclement weather in mind.

Devendra Singh, Sampark Pramukh (RSS), Sambhaji Nagar, Noida said that children know much about the games and plays which they have been watching online or television.

“But they have limited knowledge about the true heroes of the nation. Considering this, general public from several residential apartments in these sectors were invited in the program where they enriched their  knowledge about true heroes,” he said.

Mahanagar Karwah, Satyendra Singh told the crowd that most of us are well aware of life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. But our coming generation has limited knowledge about the Maharaj.

While encouraging parents, he told that they should inculcate knowledge of Shivaji Maharaj among their children as well. He said that children should be told the facts about the Shivaji. What motivated him to become a Shivaji and carry out brave acts.
