DLF 4 Gurugram: Houses violating construction norms under govt scanner

Following a complaint submitted by the developer regarding illegal construction, being carried out by the plot owners in Gurugram's DLF 4, to the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP), the authority concerned has taken a strict stance against the violators and are planning to cut off the utilities to such plots.

According to a report published in Times of India, as many as 20 houses have come under the state https://www.cityspidey.com/search-result.php?rwaid=haryana+govt&rwa_id=government’s radar.

As per the norms, owners cannot construct building with more than four floors on individual plots but the complainant claims that five floors and more have been constructed.  In the complaint, the developer further alleged that the plot owners build additional floors after getting the occupation certificates (OCs) from DTCP and many even use them for commercial purposes.

Responding to TOI on the issue, a DTCP official said that such illegal constructions put immense pressure on infrastructure and basic amenities, causing inconvenience to other residents.

Senior Town Planner Sudhir Chauhan, while putting forth his views on this matter, said that the plot owners always manage to avert any inquiry by taking the route to court and getting a stay order. It obstructs the sealing drive. But this time the department plans to take the matter to the apex court and resolve it.

A list of around 850 such plots in different areas of DLF has been submitted to the DTCP. Recently, it had sealed nearly a dozen houses in Golf Course.
