Home buyers of Jaypee Wish Town, a stalled group housing project, which is facing insolvency proceeding, are planning to stage a silent protest on June 23 at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, against government machinery, bank and developer for being responsible for their plight.

They have written to Station House Officer, parliament street police station, Delhi Police, seeking permission for organising a silent protest at the above mentioned venue. They informed the police that around 50,000 home buyers along with family and children are expected to gather for the protest.

The applicant, N C Mahapatra, one of home buyers of Jaypee Green Wish Town, said that they will gather at the venue along with women and children to stage silent protest amid scorching sun symbolising that they won't rest until their money is recovered. He said, “If we can't stand against it, noone is here to fight for us.”

He alleged that each machinery from the bank to government officials are hand in glove.

“Each of them lured all of us by offering loans and now when we are in the problem as project completion has been delayed several years, they have set a price for solving the problem. But we are commoner, who can't afford this price. It means, they won't solve it if we can't offer them for solving,” he said.

Mahapatra said that though every door is closed for use but we would try to submit a petition, if we could, to Nirmala Sitaraman, Minister of Finance and Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Housing and Urban Development, government of India.
