Rail services have resumed on Magenta Line hours after a major fire broke out in the furniture market near Delhi’s Kalindi Kunj metro station early Friday morning leaving hundreds of commuters stranded.

According to reports, the blaze was reported around 5:55 am. Seventeen fire tenders were rushed to the spot. The fire was brought under control after it raged for several hours in the morning.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), through its official handle tweeted updates regarding the services, further advising passengers to take the Blue Line to reach Noida instead of Magenta.

The reason behind the fire is still unknown.
