Mayor Asha Sharma took the decision after receiving complaints from residents and councillors of many wards.
Mayor Asha Sharma has directed the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation (GMC) to finish incomplete works of the previous financial year. Sharma has asked Dinesh Chandra, municipal commissioner of the civic body to direct officials of the department concerned and finish the incomplete works within one month's time and that too, with immediate effect.
Sharma expressed her disappointment after receiving complaints from residents and councillors of many wards, regarding incomplete work by the GMC.
In a letter written to Chandra on Saturday, Sharma complained that in many wards, works from previous year's quota of the councillors have not finished yet.
She also complained that many projects which were inaugurated 3-4 months back have not even started yet.
Besides, the delay in development work is cultivating anger amongst people against the councillors. "People are demanding answers from which we are bound to give. There's a sense of dissatisfaction and anger within residents and councillors as well. This situation is not in our favour," the letter read.
