Dwarka: Odd placement of benches, boom barrier troubles Sec 18 residents

Have you seen benches placed just in the middle of a road or barricading of any service lane? Well, such sight is evident in Dwarka!

One could see two benches placed randomly just in front of Kargil Apartment (Sector 18A). Though there is some space given between them, it seems to be a deliberate attempt so that the stretch cannot be used for commuting.

A few months back, the same stretch was full of garbage, blocking it completely. City Spidey raised the issue following which the authority concerned took the matter into their concern and cleared it, making it commutable.

Madhu Dagar, who followed up the subject said, “Area inspector Archana Andley visited the spot then. Officials from the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) too noticed it and cleared the stretch. But how could one use it if it is blocked by benches? Whose responsibility is it actually to remove them?”

Similarly, a boom barrier with the 'STOP' message can be seen placed randomly on an internal road of Sector 18. Besides, vehicles can be seen parked on both sides of the stretch, located adjacent to Krishna Residency.

Talking to City Spidey, resident of Sector 18 NK Singh said, “Whosoever has done it should know that it is wrong. How could one block a road just like that!”

Area inspector Archana Andley was apprised about the issue. She concluded saying that she will visit the spot and initiate further action.
