The Ghaziabad district administration has issued notices to five petrol pumps of the city for non-compliance of an order regarding the sale of fuel to those who are not wearing helmets or seat belts

In a strongly worded letter in the form of notice, the district administration has asked for an explanation from these petrol pumps and directed to submit their response within 3 days, failing which, they will face legal action.

On June 15, the office of district magistrate (DM), Ghaziabad had directed all the petrol pumps in the city to not supply fuel to two wheelers and four wheelers if their riders were found without helmet and seat belts. However, the administration, during an inspection, found that fuel is being sold to such riders without any fear of law.

"This action is against the guidelines of the marketing discipline and conditions of license of operation," the letter read.

Ghaziabad administration and district transport department held road safety week from June 17 to June 23.
