A bunch of residents, belonging to different residential societies in Sector 137, Noida, on Thursday complained against chopping of a full-grown tree at the site of an under-construction mall Bhutani Alphathum. 

They gave complaint in writing against Chief Executive Officer of the realty company, Rithesh Pananiya, at Phase-II police station in Noida. The site is opposite to many residential societies near Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. 

Residents alleged that chopping was done on the directions of the CEO of the company. 

The complainants included Nisha Ohari from Purvanchal Royal Park; Rachna Malik and Atul Goyal  from Supertech Ecociti,  Sachin Tatan and Ashish Goyal from Logic Blossom County and Abhisht Kusum Gupta from Paramount Floraville. 

They requested police to file an FIR against the CEO for causing damage to the environment by chopping the tree. 

Meanwhile, police also visited the site where residents were objecting cutting of tree on the site. Police were apprised of the situation there itself.

They have also complained to Regional Officer of Department of Forest, government of UP. 

When City Spidey contacted the Forest Officer, Praveen Srivastava, he told that a team has been deployed for inspection of the site from where complaint of chopping of tree received. “Once the team comes back from there, I will be in a position to respond on the matter,” he added.
