Residents of Celestial Palace Society in Sector Gamma II, Greater Noida, are a harassed lot. Some unauthorised dhabas, which have come up on a vacant plot near the society, have become a nuisance for the residents of the society.
A resident of the society, Vimal Kumar, told City Spidey that from evening to late nights, numerous people visit these food stalls and consume liquor in the open. "People get drunk and raise a ruckus. We even avoid going to the area," said Kumar.
Suman Bhati, another resident, said, that there was no police presence or patrolling in the area even after numerous complaints to Greater Noida Authority.
When contacted by City Spidey, ACEO of Greater Noida Authority, PC Gupta, said that an anti-encroachment drive will soon be carried out to clear off the area.
Greater Noida is a much better-planned city as compared to its neighbour, Noida, and other adjoining cities of the state. Shops, eateries and stores are allowed to operate only in the earmarked commercial belts of the city.
