Indirapuram: 56 pc voter turnout registered in GC Grand's AOA polls

With an overwhelming response by the voters, GC Grand, a high-rise in Indirapuram, held its annual elections of Apartments Owner's Association on Sunday. It was conducted on four positions recorded 56 per cent voting. "In total, 148 residents exercised their rights out of total 262 registered voters," informed Amrish Garg, the new president of the AOA.

"While the number may not appear to be huge as 60-70 voters live outside the country. So taking this into account, this is a good turnout," he reasoned.

The elections were conducted in an Annual General Meeting held on the same day. In the meet, four members were made to retire and vacate positions for the contest. The nominations were filed then and the voting took place. In total, five nominations were filed for four posts.

After the four members were elected to the board, the positions were distributed among the board of members. Out of these four members, three are fresh faces.

City Spidey spoke to the president of new AOA regarding the board's agenda for the current year. Garg listed out the objectives from his priority list. Our focus would be on the renovation of the infrastructure as the society is a decade old. We would start the painting work, plumbing, and civil work. Besides, we are planning to work on waste management in tandem with civic authority and district administration. We would also do overhauling of gym and club of the society," he said.

Besides the regular maintenance work, the AOA would indulge in a noble cause. The AOA is planning to set up a waiting area for the maids within society premises. "We would designate an area where they can wait in between their shifts," Garg said.
