GreNo: Eros Sampoornam residents protest against builder over several key issues

Residents of Eros Sampoornam, a high-rise in Greater Noida's Sector 2, have continued with their protest against the developer regarding poor management of the society.

They organised a public meet on Saturday, raising key issues related to security and maintenance. Protestors alleged that the developers and authorities have turned a blind eye to their problems even after multiple requests and complaints.

Talking to City Spidey, a resident named Dipankar Kumar said, “The situation is really bad here. Maintenance and security are not up to the mark. For basic amenities, we are forced to travel a long distance. I mean DDA flats are much better. They charge Rs 150 per month and provide good services but here, despite paying Rs 3000 to 4500 as maintenance fee, we get nothing. We are left with no other option than moving out.”

Another resident named Shyam Thakur complained that the deployed guards in the society lack basic training. They allow unknown vehicle or person to enter the apartment, resulting in fights and serious crimes within the premises.

“Incidents of thrashing residents and gunfires have been reported in the past. The security team is not at all bothered to take steps in this regard,” Thakur added.

Recently, residents of the high-rise carried out a signature campaign in which 152 of them signed a letter, urging the builder for a meeting but they did not receive a positive response from the latter side.

They made an attempt last year too hoping to get a resolution to their problems but to no avail.

“In February 2018, we wrote a letter to the Greater Noida Authority, mentioning the perennial issues existing in society. Following this, the maintenance team did come into action and started to provide facilities but that last for a few months only before reeling back to their lousy approach,” alleged residents of Eros Sampoornam.

The aggrieved residents are now planning to meet the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Greater Noida Authority this week. Afterward, they will carry out a peaceful agitation if they do not receive satisfactory answers and a commitment letter from the builder.
