Crossings Republik residents to face power cut for 1 hour daily till next week

The residents of Crossings Republik, a township in Ghaziabad, would have to face rostering of power supply for next one week starting from Wednesday. The rostering would take place from 4 pm to 5 pm everyday till next week, as per the circular issued by the Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Limited (UPPTCL).

In order to safeguard power supply equipment from frequent overloading due to rising electricity demand in this season, UPPTCL has resorted to rostering of power supply in its service area.

"It is a preventive measure to keep the electricity supply line safe," one of the officials from UPPTCL told City Spidey.

"The incessant heat wave and the soaring demands have already affected electricity conductors installed on 33KVA lines. If more load of supply is mounted upon this line, it will start tripping which will end up affecting the electrical appliances in homes. Besides, it may also cause a fire in transformers or disruption in the electricity supply chain," the official added.

"The delay in monsoon is causing this problem. Hopefully, things will be back to normal when rains start pouring," the official concluded.
