Noida: New bridge over Shahdara drain to ease regular traffic congestions

The opening of a bridge, constructed on Shahdara drain at Sector 14A, is expected to bring a lot of relief to the commuters, heading to Noida from Delhi via main road, from the big traffic congestions which happen at the Sector 15 roundabout almost everyday.

Local MP and former Union Minister, Mahesh Sharma and MLA Pankaj Singh on Thursday inaugurated the 72-meter long bridge. With it, traffic bottleneck at Sector 15 roundabout has now been freed permanently.

Commuters used to get stuck for hours-long traffic jam after crossing the Noida Gate while travelling from Delhi to Noida. The bridge was constructed within a stipulated period of eight months.

The competent authority was receiving complaints from the commuters as well as traffic monitoring agency in the city about the massive jams.

Considering it, a budget to the tune of Rs 6.5 crore was given to Delhi Flood Control Board to add two more lanes along the existing bridge.

While inaugurating the new bridge, Sharma said that problem of traffic jam on the route has now been solved. He said that commuters won’t face traffic jam on this stretch as four lanes have been constructed for smooth vehicular movement.
