Dumping of garbage near Brahma Apartments Sector 7, Dwarka has become a nuisance for the residents. The dumping is being done adjacent to the vacant land besides Brahma Apartments. People said that the dumping had stopped after the protests and continuous follow-ups with the authority but it has started again in the area at a particular spot. 

A resident of Brahma Apartments, Munish Kundra who has been raising the issue with the concerned authorities said, “ The vacant land besides Brahma CGHS Sector 7 has again become a dumping ground for garbage and abandoned vehicles. We tried to stop it permanently and we were successful for few months, but since last one month it is again full of dump and we are worried about the problems during the rains. This must be stopped or at least cleaned properly on daily basis.”

The road which goes from Sector 7 towards the master plan road 201 is used as a dumping spot. A spot on the side of the road has turned into a garbage heap. People also claimed that there was burning of garbage often, which caused pollution in the area. Last year few residents and various NGOs protested against the matter.

Ravi Jaitely, a resident of Harshly Apartments Sector 7, near Brahma Apartments said, “ It is sad that our efforts went in vain and we could not stop the dumping. But we will start our efforts again and try to stop it permanently.”
