The traffic police along with Dwarka Forum, a residents' body, are making efforts to sensitise the people to respect the traffic rules in Dwarka. They are jointly carrying out awareness activities on roads and intersections.
On Friday, they jointly organised a road safety awareness campaign at the crossing of Sector 5/6/10/11 near sports complex.
Other than the members of Dwarka Forum, ACP (Traffic) Dwarka, VP Tomar and Traffic Inspector, Dwarka, Archana Andley and other traffic officials of Dwarka Circle participated in this special drive.
They made the commuters and pedestrians aware by raising placards with road safety slogans. They requested the Dwarkites to use helmets, avoid jumping traffic signals, refrain from drink and drive, not to jump the zebra crossings and follow other traffic rules/norms for their own safety and safety of others too.
People were briefed about the traffic norms and other safety measures by the traffic officials and members of Dwarka Forum.
General Secretary of Dwarka Forum, AS Chatwal said that this campaign would further continue in the area. “We will carry this campaign periodically as per the convenience and availabilities of members and traffic police officials. We want to spread awareness as much as we can,” said Chatwal.
