Trident Embassy: Rotten waste in basement makes life hell for residents

Rotten waste dumped in the basement area, where residents frequently visit, is making life hell for people at Trident Embassy, a high rise in Greater Noida West.

Residents alleged that from last four to five months, house keeping management has been pathetic in the society.

As informed, around 400 families are living and twice of that are supposed to come to the society. A residents claimed that the society has no waste management mechanism.

The waste, generated daily from each households, is being collected by waste pickers and they dump it in the basement.

“It stinks a lot making difficult for us to sit at the basment. But, we have do our duty,” said a security guard requesting not to be named.

The residents, however, claimed that construction quality of the flats are good but it lacks basic facilities for the residents despite paying for the maintenance charges in advance for two years.

“Construction quality is undoubtedly good and that was the reason why people invested their money. But the management system is almost zero. Even the top management does not turn up to reply on residents’ grievances. Several complaints were made to authority but no action has come so far,” said Sumit Arora, a resident.

Another resident of the society who did not wished to be named said, “Lift, which we residents frequently use, is surrounded with rotten garbage. The situation is so bad that people hesitate to cross that area. We are forced to live in such a pathetic condition after paying so much.”

The residents are fearing health hazards if these waste are removed. “Last year, during rainy season, entire basement was filled with rain water and garbage. If the management did not turn up to remove the garbage, it may happen this year too,” Arora added.
