Vigilant guards save Dwarka residents from being robbed

Panic gripped New Arohi Apartments, a residential society based in Dwarka sector 12, after a group of miscreants attempted a robbery in wee hours of Tuesday morning.

The incident took place around 3 o'clock when miscreants entered the society premises by cutting the barbed wires placed over the boundary of the residential area. The thieves had entered from the side of green area, which has remained in dark for a long time now.

Immediately after spotting the thieves, the on duty guards raised an alarm. Soon the residents made a PCR call and policemen reached on the spot.

SK Gupta, secretary of the apartment said, "Luckily they were noticed by our guards. The miscreants first attacked them but due to noise around were frightened and escaped. It happened today around 2.45 AM. It is the second time when the fence was cut in our society. Earlier it was done on 16th May. But that time they failed to enter in the society.” However, nothing was stolen today.

Gupta further added that the policemen asked the residents to hold a meeting with the SHO for a patrolling request around the dark area of the society. "I request all other societies in the vicinity to be more careful and to put efforts to make the area safer. They all also should come together and approach the police," added Gupta.

Meanwhile, SHO of Dwarka North, Sanjay Kundu, assured residence to take actions against such gangs.
