Residents of RG Residency, Sector 120 are living in a threat. The passenger lifts in the society are not being maintained or taken care off. The lift is usually out of order and it is so frequent that residents get trapped on every third or fourth day. Despite the safety of residents availing the facility is at stake, the issue is being ignored. The servicing of the lift is on hold since last few months and the residents have stopped paying monthly maintenance fees to the developer. RG Residents, on the condition of anonymity, told City Spidey that the developer was charging a high amount for third grade services. This is the reason that they stopped paying the maintenance.
They also complained that the developer is allegedly forcing residents to pay dues of previous years. They further said that the builder hiked the rate of maintenance to Rs 2.16/sqm, which is higher than the last year.
When the residents did not get the facilities, they stopped paying the builder. It resulted in builder removing security staffs, discontinuing services to residents, stopping maintenance of lifts and house keeping works in the society. Tikaram, working with agency giving maintenance services to the society, told City Spidey that there are residents, who have not paid maintenance charged from past two years. Now, all residents have stopped it, how do we provide them service without any funds. They even have to pay a salary to the staff.
