Just three days ahead of the election of new office bearers of Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Association (FONRWA), a contesting candidate, OP Yadav, was brutally attacked by some unidentified criminals on Wednesday night.

The incident has shaken the confidence of all the contesting candidates for the FONRWA election.

As per the information, Yadav was attacked with some sharp weapon on his neck and head late night on Wednesday when was heading towards his home in Aravali Apartments. 

Other federation members, who were aware with the matter, told City Spidey that Yadav, who live on second floor of the building, was on the stairs when he was attacked with sharp weapon all of a sudden.

He received severe injuries on his neck and head and presently recuperating at Manas hospital in Sector 31. 

“It is a shocking news for all of us. Police have reached the spot and have assured to identify the criminals as soon as possible,” said Sanjeev Kumar, a member of FONRWA.

Yadav, who was earlier RWA president of his society, was contesting for the post of Senior Vice President in FONRWA elections.

Confirming the information, N P Singh, president of FONRWA said, “He is contesting for the post of Senior Vice President in the upcoming FONRWA election scheduled on next Sunday. So far, it is yet to be identified who attacked him. Police visited the society and checked CCTV footage, however, there was low visibility,” Singh said.

Vineet Jaiswal, SP City (Noida) said, “ We are investigating the matter and will come come out with details as soon as possible. Investigation is underway, hence, I won’t be able to make any comment at this stage.”
