Dwarka: Adjacent ill-maintained area cause of concern for Gangotri Apartments

Residents of Gangotri Apartments in Sector 12, Dwarka, are facing a lot of problems due to an ill-maintained green area which is adjacent to the boundary wall of the society.

The said green area is full of garbage and wild bushes. The boundary walls are in broken state. On top of it, there is no proper lighting arrangements.

President of RWA, Umesh Kala said, “This area was once a park. But, this has been in bad shape for a long time now. At night, people use this area for consumption of liquor or drugs. We keep extra vigil on this area for our security. We have written to DDA and LG about this problem.”

RWA said that DDA officials were not serious about the maintenance of that green area. They said that the DDA was not ready to accept that the particular area was under their jurisdiction.

“We have written to them several times but they did not accept that it is under their jurisdiction. We showed them the map and the earmarked green area. Then only, they accepted,” he said.

“After continuous follow ups, an engineer came here few months back and we thought that something would happen. But he somehow got transferred. Now another one came but he does not seem to be serious and the green area is still in bad shape,” he added.

RWA of the society said that they suggested DDA to make the area clean and carry out plantation. Also, they asked the DDA officials to do the fencing of the green area so that the antisocial elements could not enter. But, nothing has happened.
