Life came to a standstill around, IFFCO Chowk, Shankar Chowk, Jwala Mill Road, Sikanderpur, and Golf Course Road of Gurugram, after incessant rains flooded roads in the region, causing major inconvenience to the commuters.

Residents blamed the civic authority and their incapability in providing basic civic amenities. "The situation has been like this for years now. Few hours of rain turns into a nightmare. The civic authority has continuously failed to tackle the problem of waterlogging in the city, making our lives hell," said Uttam Singh, a commuter on Golf Course Road.

Another resident, Divya Rai of Sushant Lok said, "It is very shameful that after spending crores on infrastructure, the city crumbles after every rain."

Not only the major roads but internal roads are flooded with rainwater. The residents dread about the several vector-borne diseases that spread due to stagnant water. Manisha Nagar, another resident said, "Several cases of dengue and malaria were registered last year. All the drain lines should be cleared before it becomes a health hazard for the residents."
